The Japanese Ministry of defense by 2023, establish in the country a device that will track space debris orbiting the Earth.
The device is installed on the territory of one of the defense force base, which is located in the province of Yamaguchi. The main purpose of radar will be tracking space junk in orbit near Japanese satellites. This is necessary in order to adjust the movement of the satellites. Also, this device I want to use to monitor the use of weapons, which will be aimed at the destruction of the spacecraft. Installing such a radar, the Agency will spend about 4.4 billion yen, 38 million dollars. This amount, the government plans to budget in early fiscal 2018.
Specialists conducted a study and found that most leave debris in orbit US, Russia and China. Almost 95% of the debris is the remnants of space ships, rockets, tools that were left by the astronauts, and so on.
We remind you that in April, the Federation opened a tracking station for garbage, which is located in Brazil. The main purpose of this station is monitoring the spacecraft and space debris and falling satellites.
